Grand Seiko is a watch brand that I like very much. It is known for its nature-inspired dial craftsmanship, stunning case finishing, and innovative movements. For me, the one technology that makes the Grand Seiko stand out among its peers is definitely the Spring Drive technology. Nowhere else will you find such smooth sweeps, with the movement taking absolutely no steps even in slow motion - truly mesmerizing. So when the new 9RA2 with a 5 day power reserve was released it was only a matter of time before I added one to the collection. When the original Hi-Beat White Birch came out, I found it a little too flashy for my personal taste, so when the more subtle Spring Drive SLGA009 was released in early 2022, I had to add it to my collection. The dial texture of this watch is more subtle and has all the qualities to match the strap. So without further ado, allow me to reveal some Delugs pairings that I believe will make this watch really shine!

It’s a more casual strap pairing, but visually soothing and feels right at home in the same environment where the craftsmen at Grand Seiko’s Shinshu studio were inspired. The dial design of the SLGA009 is more subtle.
