(SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim are a tough enough assignment when Mike Trout is his usual productive self. But when the outfielder is on a red-hot streak, it gets even more difficult. Trout and the Angels will return to Progressive Field in Cleveland on Wednesday night for the third encounter of a four-game series with the Indians. You can watch the game on TSN and TSN GO at 7pm et/4pm pt. The Angels had managed just two runs per game in a 1-4 stretch prior to Tuesday, but ended the drought with 15 hits in a 9-3 victory. Trout homered twice and drove in four runs, and is now batting .410 with eight homers and 26 runs batted in over his last 22 games. "Im being patient and squaring up some balls," Trout said. "Im not anxious. Im just comfortable." Facing the comfortable Trout is Clevelands less comfortable Justin Masterson, who was dinged for five runs in two innings of a 10-3 loss at Boston on Friday. It was the second-shortest start of his big-league career and his 5.05 earned run average for the season is a career worst as well. Prior to the loss to the Red Sox, hed compiled a 1.72 ERA in three starts. Last time out against the Angels, he allowed five runs in 7 1/3 innings of a 6-3 loss in April. Trout, incidentally, has four hits in eight career at-bats against him. Cleveland had won 10 straight at home before Tuesday. "Weve really played very well for about the last month," the Tribes Carlos Santana said. "You want to win every time, but this was just one game." The Indians may again be without home run and RBI leader Michael Brantley, who missed Tuesday as a precaution after he was injured in Mondays game. Brantley passed a concussion test, but was shaky during pregame activities. The Angels start lefty C.J. Wilson, whos 1-3 in his last four starts while earning just one run of support in the three losses. He dropped a 4-3 decision to Atlanta in his last start on Friday. He was a 7-1 winner against Cleveland on April 30 and is 4-2 against the Indians in eight starts. Brantley is 1-for-14 against him in his career. On Tuesday, Kole Calhoun went 4-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored, while Howie Kendrick also homered and drove in two for the Angels. Matt Shoemaker (4-1) lasted eight innings and gave up two runs on five hits with a walk and 10 strikeouts. Lonnie Chisenhall homered, while Santana and David Murphy each drove in a run for the Indians. Josh Tomlin (4-4) was beat up for six runs -- five earned -- on 11 hits over 5 1/3 innings. "That was the first thought that came into my head, flashbacks to what happened on that day," said Schneider, who was a teammate of Fischer in Detroit that season. "Hes a big man and he collapsed right on me. That was one of the scariest moments of my career. At first you had no idea what was happening but then he started convulsing, it was really scary for everyone." Its the type of situation that nobody ever anticipates, even less so amongst a group of highly conditioned athletes in peak physical condition. "It was shocking particularly because Fischer was just an incredible athlete and in amazing shape, you dont expect it," said Schneider. "Last night was another very scary incident; I got texts as soon as it happened." Fischer was stabilized that day by the heroic work of Dr. Tony Collucci who was on the scene in seconds. His proximity to the bench played a big part in contributing to a positive result. As a result, the NHL requires that doctors have immediate access to the players bench to act in the case of such events transpiring. That scenario again played a role in helping to stabilize Peverley on Monday night as doctors were on the scene in seconds, able to treat the Stars forward for what team physician Gil Salazar termed a cardiac event. "Everything played out and transpired exactly as you would draw it up and luckily we had a fortunate result," said NHLL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly.dddddddddddd "The leagues done a great job over the years to make sure every safety net is there and available to the guys," added Schneider. "In the two instances that Ive known, the doctors have literally saved the players lives." The news of Peverleys collapse quickly reached the leagues general managers who are gathered in Boca Raton, Florida for meetings this week. "Obviously it was a scary situation," said Daly. "We were all at a general managers dinner and we were alerted immediately to the events in Dallas. A number of us left the room and were being updated on a step by step basis to what was happening." Once it became clear what had transpired, Daly explained that the decision to postpone the game came at the urging of both the Dallas Stars and their opponents, the Columbus Blue Jackets. Having gone through a similar situation himself, Schneider agreed the right decision was made. "As a player being so close to your teammates, its too taxing, its too difficult to go back and I would think youd be playing half-heartedly in a situation like that," he said. Daly explained the NHL has identified a date to reschedule the game and intend to announce it later in the week. The Blue Jackets will be allowed to maintain their 1-0 lead that they had built through the first 6:23 of the game though a fresh sixty minutes will be played when the game is made up. The NHL followed the same procedure when the Red Wings and Predators game was completed in 2006 after Fischers incident, allowing Nashville to maintain their 1-0 lead. The Predators ultimately went on to win 3-2.
