Woods has never won the Phoenix Open in three starts, but he has had plenty of success at Torrey Pines. Back when the event was named the Buick Invitational, Woods won six times, including a stretch of four straight victories from 2005-08. After the events name changed to the Farmers Insurance Open in 2010, Woods added one more win in 2013. Woods made his return to competition in early December at the Hero World Challenge, an unofficial event that he also hosts, where the 39-year-old finished tied for last in an 18-player field. Prior to the Hero World Challenge, Woods had not played since missing the cut at the PGA Championship.
